I’m scared of the things that I cannot change.
Life is good and I am enjoying it; but this peacefulness is eerie because it’s been so long since the last storm has hit me and tried to tear me apart. I’m a pessimist. I don’t believe that things can go well for me for so long, sooner or later (and I’m betting on soon), a typhoon or monsoon or tornado or the likes of it is going to hit me. It’s going to smash me against walls, waves raging upon me, wearing me out till I am once again beaten sore and blue. Till I am once again crying, cringing from life. Till I am once again at rock bottom, cursing my misfortune, crying against my misstep, hating myself for walking into yet another landmine.
I’m terrified of that, and I’m afraid it is inevitable seeing how the story of my life has been written out so far.
I don’t believe you.
You either like me or you don’t. It took me Twenty-something years to learn how to love myself, I don’t have that kinda time to convince somebody else.
